This guide will walk you through how to make posts on your PTA School website so you can share your information with all your PTA members. For the purposes of this guide, we will be using the Northeast Elementary School PTA website as an example, but these steps will be the same on all of our websites.
What You’ll Need
- Your PTA website login
- An image you would like to use for your post
Steps
Step 1
Navigate to your PTA website admin login page. Your admin page will look something like this https://northeastpta.org/pta-login/ just sub out the northeastpta.org with your own school website.
Step 2
Once you log in to the website, you will see a black bar at the top of your page. Navigate to the name of your school and click the dashboard button in the drop-down menu.
Step 3
In the Admin area, move your cursor over the News Post item in the left-hand column and then click Add Post in the menu that pops up.
Step 4
In the window that appears, add a title for your posts, shown in the screenshot as step one. Then, in the window below, type in any information you would like to be in your news post, shown in the screenshot as step two. You can also copy and paste from applications like Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or Apple Pages.
Step 5
Scroll down until you see the Featured Image area. Then click the Set Featured Image link.
Step 6
Click the upload files button.
Step 7
Click Select Files to add your file. Note that on all PTA websites, the maximum upload size is only 2 MB.
Step 8
Click the Set Featured Image button to add your image as the featured image for your post
Step 9
If you wish to publish the post immediately, simply click the publish button, and your post will now appear on your website. If you would like to future date your post, you can click the edit button pointed out by the yellow arrow and then enter a time and date where you would like the post to automatically go live.
Step 10
Click your school's name in the black bar in the upper left-hand corner and then select Visit Site.
Step 11
Your post will now appear on the main page of your site along with all the other news posts. You've done it!

We recommend saving your login information in a secure password manager like 1Password, Apple Passwords, Dashlane, etc., to make it easy for you to log in for the future.
